Who We Are

TripWeather is developed and operated by Appyculteur, a sole proprietorship (micro-entreprise) registered in France.

For the purposes of EU data protection law, Appyculteur is the data controller responsible for your personal data when you use TripWeather.

Our philosophy: We collect the minimum data required to make the app work. We do not sell your data. We never will.

Third-Party Services

TripWeather uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

Firebase (Google LLC)

Used for authentication, database (Firestore), analytics, and crash reporting. Firebase may process data on servers in the United States and/or the EEA. Google is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Visual Crossing

Used to fetch weather forecasts for the cities in your itinerary. We send only city names and date ranges — no personal identifiers.

Google Places API

Used to autocomplete city names when you build an itinerary. Only your text input (city search query) is sent to Google. No personal data is transmitted.

Google Play Billing

In-app purchases (the Premium unlock at €5.99) are processed entirely by Google Play. Appyculteur never sees or stores your payment information.

No advertising networks. TripWeather contains no ads and integrates no advertising SDKs. Your data is never shared with or sold to advertisers.

Data Retention

Account data (Google Sign-In users)

Your itineraries and account data are retained in Firebase Firestore for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app.

Anonymous sessions

If you use TripWeather without signing in, your data is stored locally via Firebase anonymous authentication. Firebase may automatically purge anonymous accounts inactive for an extended period. Your data is tied to the device and cannot be recovered if you uninstall the app.

Analytics and crash data

Firebase Analytics event data is retained for 14 months. Crashlytics reports are retained for 90 days. Both are aggregated and anonymized.

Beta waitlist

Waitlist email addresses are retained only until the app launches. After launch, we will send one notification and then delete your email unless you explicitly opt in to further communications.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In France, this is the CNIL.

Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data:

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, please contact us immediately at hello@appyculteur.com.

Children

TripWeather is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice.

Continued use of TripWeather after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
